Job summary

MVP Recovery in Upper Darby, PA is seeking a dependable SUD Counselor/Assessor to join our outpatient treatment team. This full-time role blends assessments with individual and group counseling, using ASAM Criteria to guide level-of-care decisions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, solid communication, and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience with electronic health records and trauma-informed care is a plus.

Qualifications

• PA DDAP qualification requirements met (education and experience).
• Master's degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.
• Experience in substance use disorder assessment and counseling preferred.
• Ability to document accurately and maintain client records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive SUD assessments and clinical interviews.
• Utilize ASAM Criteria to determine level of care and document recommendations.
• Provide individual SUD counseling and facilitate groups.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor progress.
• Coordinate referrals with internal staff and external providers.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation and supervision participation.
