Job description

The Town of Sudbury seeks a highly responsible and qualified Van Driver to work on a substitute basis, providing coverage during staff vacations and sick days.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe transportation for older residents and residents with disabilities to medical appointments, stores, and social engagements using an 8-, 11-, or 12-passenger wheelchair-accessible van.
• Maintain accurate passenger records and perform daily safety checks.
• Drive on a substitute basis, covering staff vacations and sick days.

Qualifications

• High school education.
• Read and write English.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations in the past five years.
• Patience with and interest in older adults and persons with disabilities.
• Basic familiarity with personal computers/tablets.
• Experience working with older adults and persons with disabilities is desirable.
• Pass Criminal Background check and participate in pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $20.00 per hour. As a part-time/substitute position, the role is not eligible for benefits.
