Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist AVID students in ELA, mathematics, science and social studies during AVID tutorial time.
• Work under the direction of the AVID teacher and participate in AVID training.
• Provide feedback to AVID teachers on student progress.

Job Summary

AVID tutors work during the established AVID tutorial time to provide assistance to AVID students in the areas of ELA, mathematics, science and social studies. AVID tutors are provided training in the AVID tutorial process and work under the direction of the AVID teacher. AVID tutors work with identified groups of AVID students and use the tutorial process to help them develop a deeper understanding of the curriculum. AVID tutors communicate with the AVID teachers to provide feedback and information on student progress in the tutorial.
