Job summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

A substitute teacher must hold a teaching certificate (Standard, CEAS, or CE) issued by the New Jersey State Board of Examiners/New Jersey Department of Education.

OR

Must be eligible to receive a County Substitute Certificate.

To receive the County certificate:

• Must have completed 30 semester hour credits in an accredited college
• Complete a criminal history background clearance

A fee of $125.00 is charged by the County for this certificate and the certificate is issued for a five-year period.
