Job summary

Lower Kuskokwim School District in Mekoryuk, Alaska seeks a Substitute Teacher I to provide instructional leadership on a substitute basis. Starting immediately, you will follow teacher plans and supervise classes, aiming to maintain high standards of student behavior in a rural Alaskan setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, with an associates degree preferred. Citizenship or work visa may be required to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designed.
• Encourages students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
• Is responsible for monitoring the behavior of all students within his sight and hearing during the work day.
• Services lunch rooms, playground, bus loading areas, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
