Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time substitute teacher who can support LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis. The role requires a mature Christian faith, active church involvement, and strong communication skills to engage students and collaborate with teachers.

The substitute will complete training, implement provided curricula, maintain a safe classroom, follow discipline policies, and communicate with volunteers and staff.

Qualifications

• Mature personal Christian faith aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Active participation in local church aligned with LifeWise Faith.
• Ability or experience to teach LifeWise curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Maintain attendance records and provide to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom; know emergency procedures.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community; communicate lesson plans with volunteers and the teacher.

LifeWise substitute teachers will demonstrate excellence in Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching students.
