Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a dedicated substitute teacher to support its biblical education program. The role requires active church involvement and an ability to convey LifeWise curriculum with care and clarity.

You will complete training, teach on an as-needed basis, maintain classroom safety and order, and communicate plans with volunteers and the lead teacher. This is a part-time, hourly position aligned with church values.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis using provided curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, organized and engaging classroom per LifeWise policies.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance and report to the teacher.
• Keep the classroom clean and well-ordered; know emergency procedures.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers and coordinate duties with the teacher.

LifeWise substitute teachers will demonstrate excellence in Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching students.

Qualifications and Experience

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Job Description

• Complete substitute teacher training
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis
  • Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher
  • Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures
  • Follow the program's student discipline policy

  • Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher
