Job summary

Evergreen Academy Montessori seeks an on-call substitute to support Infant, Toddler and Preschool students under the lead teacher. You’ll guide activities using Montessori materials to boost independence and participation in learning.

Ideal candidates are positive communicators with Montessori exposure, aged 18+, with a high school diploma and a background check cleared; ECE credentials are preferred. Salary is $21.00–$23.00/hour with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
• Early Childhood Education certificate or equivalent degree preferred.
• Must clear criminal background check and maintain credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher for Infant to Preschool students and encourage independence.
• Guide students using Montessori materials to build math, language and science concepts.

About the Position

This on call, as needed Substitute position will work with our Infant, Toddler and Preschool students and assists the lead teacher in encouraging increased independence and active participation in the learning process in students. Using developmentally appropriate Montessori learning materials, you guide students as they grow in their comprehension of math, language, science and geography concepts. You will have the opportunity to work with students according to their individual learning capabilities and maturity levels, growing their confidence and problem-solving skills.

About You

We are looking for someone who is naturally positive, a good communicator, and passionate about learning and child development. You must be:

• At least 18 years of age
• Minimum high school diploma
• Early Childhood Education Certificate or equivalent college degree preferred
• Must successfully clear criminal background check
• Previous Montessori teaching experience preferred
• Compliance with all state education and licensing standards and maintains validation of credentials for the position
