Job summary

Baker School District 5J in Baker City, Oregon is seeking licensed substitute teachers for all schools within the district. Applicants must reside in the state of Oregon and hold a current teaching license through TSPC or a Bachelor's Degree with a Restricted Substitute License.

Upon hire, the district may submit a letter of support to TSPC for the Restricted license. Training is required and contact is Jodi Thew, Human Resource Director, to confirm dates and RSVP attendance.

Qualifications

• Substitute for licensed employees across all Baker School District 5J schools.
• Attend mandatory Substitute Training and comply with district procedures.
• Coordinate with the Human Resources Director and school sites for placement.

Required Qualifications

• Substitutes for licensed employees must either have a current valid teaching license through the Oregon Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) or a Bachelor’s Degree and obtain a Restricted Substitute License from TSPC by following the procedure located here: oregon.gov/tspc/LIC/Pages/First-Time-License.aspx
• If applying for a Restricted Substitute Teaching License, upon hire, candidates will need the District to submit a letter of support directly to TSPC. Please contact Jodi Thew, Human Resource Director, at 541-524-2260 Ext. 1045 or at [e-mail] to request a letter of support.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

• Upload an Online Application, a Cover Letter/Letter of Interest and a current Resume.
• Upon District approval, an Oregon W-4, a Federal W-4, and Federal I-9 will need to be completed at the District Office.
