Job summary

Legacy Church is seeking a highly motivated individual to join Legacy Academy as a full-time substitute teacher. The role involves stepping in for teachers, maintaining instruction, and supporting a Christ-centered school community across multiple grade levels.

You will work under administration guidance, gain classroom experience, and assist with pull-out sessions. A high school diploma is required; CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Background check and fingerprinting required by state.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for teachers during absences to maintain instruction and classroom order.
• Support classroom learning under administration guidance and uphold the Christian mission.
• Gain experience across multiple grade levels and subjects.
• Assist with pull-out sessions for individual students or small groups when not substituting.
• Observe and learn from seasoned teachers to improve classroom management and teaching strategies.
• Communicate clearly and positively with students, staff, and administration.

Legacy Academy - Substitute Teacher

Legacy Academy is a private, Christian discipleship school serving preschool through grade 12 students. With our continued growth and expanding student body, we’re seeking a full-time substitute teacher who can step in with excellence and carry on the mission of connecting students to the heart of God.

Who You Are:

• Reliable, flexible, and comfortable engaging with students of varying ages and grade levels.
• Ideally pursuing or holding a degree in Education, Math, English, or Science (preferred but not required).

What You’ll Do:

• Fill in for teachers who are out for short- or long-term absences, ensuring a smooth continuation of instruction and classroom order.
• Work under the guidance of administration to support classroom learning and uphold Legacy Academy’s Christ-centered mission.
• Gain experience across multiple grade levels and subjects, developing practical skills and a deeper understanding of Christian education.
• Assist with pull-out sessions for individual students or small groups when not actively substituting.
• Observe and learn from seasoned teachers to gain insight into classroom management, student dynamics, and effective teaching strategies.
• Communicate clearly and positively with students, staff, and administration to ensure a consistent and engaging learning environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); college coursework or degree in Education, Math, English, or Science preferred.
• Ability to meet state and federal requirements, including background check and fingerprinting.
• Current CPR/Basic First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
