Job summary

Palmyra Area School District is seeking Substitute Nurses for the 2026-27 school year with a flexible daily schedule. The substitute nurse will assist the regular nurse, administer medications, and document visits while ensuring student health needs are met.

Job Overview

Our substitute school nurses will help to promote a healthy school environment and respond to the needs of individual students while the regular school nurse is away, provide additional support as needed, or attend field trips. The substitute school nurse will administer daily medications as ordered and over the counter medications as needed as per consent and protocol, assess the health needs of students, treat illnesses and injuries, evaluate need for additional medical/emergency services if necessary, consult with administration/other nurses as needed for questions or concerns, and electronically document all visits and encounters.

Our Substitute Nurses are paid at $183/day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) current certification is required.
