Job summary

The Independence School in Newark is seeking a school nurse to promote the health and well-being of students, faculty and staff. The nurse identifies health issues, collaborates with families and administrators to ensure students develop normally.

Responsibilities include providing care, maintaining medical records, immunization monitoring, medication administration, screenings, and acting as medical consultant to PE, athletics, and counseling staff; CPR/AED certified RN required.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum clinical nursing experience.
• School nursing experience is preferred but not necessary.

• Serves as a medical consultant with other school professionals, such as physical education teachers, coaches, plant staff and psychologist.
• Provides health-related education to students and staff.
