Job summary

Morris Area Schools is seeking dependable individuals to provide substitute coverage in our school health offices. Training will be provided to help substitutes support students and carry out assigned health office responsibilities.

This position helps maintain a welcoming, organized health office and supports student well-being during a district nurse's absence. Responsibilities will be based on the substitute's qualifications, completed training, district procedures, and applicable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work with children and adolescents.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Welcome students to the health office and respond calmly and respectfully to their needs.
• Provide basic first aid and other authorized assistance within the scope of training.
• Follow district procedures for student illness, injury, and emergencies, including obtaining appropriate assistance.
• Communicate with parents, guardians, school staff, and designated health-care contacts as directed.
• Maintain accurate records of health office visits and assistance provided.
• Protect the confidentiality of student health information.
• Keep the health office clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Perform other assigned health office duties consistent with qualifications and training.
