Job summary

Mustang Public Schools Transportation - Yukon, Oklahoma seeks a substitute bus driver for the 2026-2027 school year. The role requires a Class B CDL with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brakes, and an Oklahoma SDE school bus driver Certification.

Starting Aug 14, 2025, you will support student transportation with safety and reliability. Responsibilities include observing traffic laws, maintaining discipline, pre-trip inspections, and reporting incidents to the director.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brakes.
• Oklahoma SDE school bus driver Certification.
• Additional health and age requirements as the board may require.

Responsibilities

• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
• Reports undisciplined students to the building administrator.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Keeps to assigned schedule.
• Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents to the Director and the Police, and completes required reports.
• Enforces regulations against smoking, chewing tobacco, eating, or drinking on the bus.
• Enforces bus riding regulations established by the Director or the state.
• Abides by all district policies and state and federal laws.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
