Bethlehem Central School District seeks School Bus Drivers to ensure safe transportation for students. Successful candidates will operate buses under supervision, following state safety laws and practices. Required qualifications include a valid Class B license with necessary endorsements. Training provided and compensated accordingly.
Bethlehem Central School District is continuoulsy seeking applicants for School Bus Drivervacancies. Candidates will be trained prior to an official School Bus DriverPosition. Training applicants for School Bus Driverswill be compensated at the Board of Educationapproved rateon the District’s regular biweekly payroll cycle with the understanding that they willremain on the District payroll for a minimum of 90 calendar days after the satisfactorycompletion of training. Compensation for training hours for bus driver applicants from the firstday of class until the 1st CDL permit test date (not to exceed a week after the end of thetraining class) will be held until the bus driver applicant successfully passes the NYS CDLpermit tests with all required endorsements
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is manual work of average difficulty requiring skill in the operation of a large automotive vehicle. The operator is responsible for the safety and conduct of the children who are passengers. The work is performed under general supervision with considerable leeway allowed the operator in carrying out the details of the work. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Class B license with P endorsement, issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, at the time of appointment. Effective October 1, 2005, school bus drivers as defined by Section 142 of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law must possess an S endorsement on their vehicle license.
