Job summary

Brighton Area Schools is seeking a Substitute Bus Driver to transport students to and from school, field trips, and activities in Brighton, Michigan. The role requires a clean driving record, adherence to schedules, and district policies.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, maintaining order on the bus, completing required reports, and assisting with drills. A valid CDL-B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements plus Air Brake endorsement is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL-B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement is required; Air Brake endorsement is preferred.
• Bilingual, English/Spanish, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives a school bus on designated routes and field trips in accordance with schedules.
• Inspects the bus daily to ensure it is safe, clean and in good working order.
• Maintains order and discipline among students according to district policies and procedures.
• Completes records and reports as required by the district.
• Assists with bus drills and emergency procedures as trained.
