Job summary

Douglas County School District seeks a Substitute Program Leader for BASE at Sand Creek Elementary. The role supports supervision of children across programs, promoting safety and positive behavior.

Responsibilities include guiding children, ensuring supervision, and assisting with after/before school activities as needed. Qualifications include being 18+, with either 3 months of verified care supervision of four or more children over four (non-related), or an Early Childhood Credential Level I

Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to work with children.
  • Must have completed at least one of the following qualifications: a) three months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the age of four (4) who are not related to the individual; or, b) a current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level I (version 3.0) as determined by the Department.

  • Ensures safety of children by providing supervision and guidance at all times.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Builds healthy relationships with children by engaging with them and responding to their needs and interests.
  • Plans and implements program activities that help children learn, develop skills, explore interests, and foster belonging and community.

Job Posting Title:

Substitute - Program Leader - BASE

Job Description:

Responsible for supporting the Director and Assistant Director in supervising children in various programs and unstructured activities. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community members and school clientele.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Occasional lifting, five (5) to fifty (50) pounds
• Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting

Each program leader must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, demonstrate ability to work with children, and must have completed at least one (1) of the following qualifications:
a. Must have at least three (3) months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the age of four (4) who are not related to the individual; or,
b. A current early childhood professional credential level I one (1) or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the Department based on its Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Worksheet, found at https://www.coloradoshinespdis.com/s/about-the-ecpc?language=en_US.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

***This position may need to provide individual student assistance or assistance for a small number of children in a school setting outside of the classroom, such as the before school, after school, and full day programs for child care. Will assist student(s) in life skill activities and personal needs.***

— Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

— Plans and implements program activities that provide children with opportunities to learn and develop skills, explore interests, and experience a sense of self-worth and belonging, and contribute to the community.

Certifications:

First Aid & CPR Certification - American Heart Association, Universal Precautions Training - OSHA
