Job summary

Kelly Education is seeking Substitute Paraeducators to join the Aurora Public Schools, including the Escuela Bilingüe Betty Benavidez Dual Language School. No prior experience required, and positions offer flexible hours and weekly pay.

You will collaborate with teachers to support diverse learners, promote inclusive classrooms, and help students with daily tasks. Training, orientation, and ongoing professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish and English).

Responsibilities

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
• Collaborate with lead teachers to implement lesson plans and provide additional support to students with diverse learning needs. Depending on assignment, may work directly in special education, general education, or one-on-one with a student or small group.
• Assist students in understanding and completing assignments, reinforcing classroom instruction while supporting social and emotional development through positive peer interactions.
• After training, assist in toileting/diapering activities with students of significant needs under supervision of the District/School.
• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Responsibilities:

Dependent upon assignment, this role may be working directly in a special education classroom, working in a general education classroom or environment, and/or working one-on-one with a student or small group of students.
• Assist students in understanding and completing assignments, reinforcing classroom instruction while promoting social and emotional development by encouraging positive peer interactions.
• After being trained, assignments require paraeducators to assist in toileting/ diapering activities with students of significant needs. The Paraeducator will only assist in this regard under the direction and direct supervision of the District/School.
• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all students

Substitute aides may also be referred to as paraprofessionals, education technicians, teacher’s aide, instructional assistant, classroom assistant or education assistant.
