Job summary

Right At School is seeking an Educator Substitute to support after-school programs at the Heredia-Arriaga Dual Immersion School. This on-call role offers hourly pay, with on-site duties afternoons, helping deliver engaging, education-forward activities for students.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of experience with children under 13, strong customer service, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities and curriculum aligned with program goals.
• Plan and facilitate structured daily fitness, activities, and educational experiences.

• Monitor safety and record attendance, incidents, and observations.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Educator Substitute

Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students! Educator Pay Rate: $20 - $22 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours: ON CALL Monday - Friday, 1:50pm - 6pm. Early start 12:30pm - 6pm

School Location: Heredia-Arriaga Dual Immersion School

You’ll Drive The Mission By

• Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Ideal Candidates Will Have The Following

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
• Works well in a team environment
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age preferred
• Ability to lift 25lbs
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

California Requirements

• Ability to meet state-specific requirements;
• Cleared tuberculosis test and health screening
• Authorized to work in the US
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• LiveScan fingerprint background check cleared
