Job summary

Avoca Central School District is seeking dependable Substitute Cleaners for the 2026-2027 school year to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways; restocking supplies; following safety procedures; reporting maintenance concerns; and working either independently or as part of a team. This on-site, part-time role supports a positive learning atmosphere within the district.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or custodial experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Dependability and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Willingness to comply with all applicable health and safety requirements.

• Clean and disinfect classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and other school areas.

• Follow established cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions to the appropriate staff.
• Perform other cleaning and custodial duties as assigned.
