Burchell High School is seeking a building substitute to cover classes when teachers are absent. The position is temporary and focused on daily school coverage, ensuring continuity of learning for students.

Building subs fill at one school and may transition into Classroom Teacher or Classroom Support roles if no schedule exists seven days in advance; no duties in Food Services or Custodial Services are included.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree or Alaska Teaching Certificate preferred but not required.
• Temporary position.
• Building substitutes work daily at one school.
• No assignments to Food Services or Custodial Services.

We believe our building subs are one of the most important staff members!. Building subs have the extraordinary ability to contribute to every classroom in our school. Through that they provide a consistent and familiar presence for students in order to help them continue moving forward in their learning when teachers must be absent.

Building substitutes are substitutes that sub daily at one school. If there are no positions to fill, the Building Sub will be an extra hands on deck at the school for the day. If a Building Sub does not have a job scheduled 7 days in advance, they will automatically populate into the open Classroom Teacher and Classroom support position. Building Subs do not sub for Food Services or Custodial Services.

Building Substitute Requirements

• Bachelors Degree or an Alaska Teaching Certificate is PREFERRED to be a Building Substitute, but not required
