Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking a patient and professional Substitute Bus Monitor to supervise students during transportation on DeKalb County buses. The role requires maintaining behavioral discipline and focusing on the needs of students being transported, under general supervision.

The position is temporary, day-to-day and located in Supply Employees with potential routes on school buses. Experience with special education students and CPR/First Aid may be valued by the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two professional references required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees students and/or special education students on scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions.
• Enforces rules, regulations, and laws to maintain safety during transport.
• Ensures the safety of special education students during transport, loading and unloading from buses.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
