Job description

We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a minimum 7 years of experience for our LA - Woodland Hills office, who wants to work and grow as a team player within our progressive multi‑discipline firm. The successful individual will be a licensed engineer with solid experience in the design of steel and concrete substation structures. Experience with other buildings and structure types is also welcome.

In This Role You Will

• Add expertise to our structural group in substation structures and foundation designs. Have the ability to work on many other exciting projects energy related as well as other markets.
• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & institutional building projects.
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well‑coordinated and high‑quality set of structural drawings.
• Lead project teams of engineers, designers and drafters to execute structural designs.
• Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design.
• Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications.
• Manage profitability of projects and maintain a working relationship with clients.
• Work closely with the Discipline Manager to support the needs of the department, projects, and growth objectives.

Compensation and Benefits

• Approximate Base Salary - $100,000 - $150,000+ based on experience.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
• Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
• Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change).
• 401(k) with maximum of 5% contribution matching for 9% employee contribution.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
• 7 or more years of experience with design of concrete and steel structures.
• Substation structure and foundation design experience.
• Ability to work independently with proper engineering oversight.
• Ability to work and collaborate in larger project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PE or SE registration in any state.
• Registered CA Structural Engineer.
• M.S. degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Experience with SCE, LADWP, PG&E substation standards.
• Multi-discipline project management experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (ETABS, RISA, SAFE).
