Job summary

Irby Construction Company seeks a Substation Welder with a minimum of two years of welding metal experience. Aluminum welding experience is a plus, and candidate must understand OSHA welding standards.

You will work with foremen to weld aluminum busswork and connectors, operate lifting equipment, and travel as required to project sites. A valid aluminum welding certification or ability to pass a weld test is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years welding metal experience.
• Aluminum welding experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of OSHA welding codes and standards.
• Aluminum Welders Certification required or able to obtain.
• Must be able to travel/out-of-town work.

Responsibilities

• Take field measurements for busswork and weld connectors.
• Weld aluminum connectors to busswork and cable.
• Obtain or maintain Aluminum Welders Certification.
• Knowledge of high voltage substation construction is a plus.
• Operate equipment like lifts and band saws.
• Ensure work quality per specifications.
