A leading electrical contractor in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, seeks candidates for assisting in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage substation equipment. Candidates should have at least one year of relevant education or experience, and must be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL as well as OSHA 10 certification. Job description

Job Summary

• Assists with construction, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical substation equipment in rural and municipal high voltage substations/switch yards ranging in voltage from 4.16-115 KV.
• Assists with substation switching during planned and emergency repairs and outages.
• Assists with other associated tasks such as welding, pipe bending, concrete forming and finishing, and erection of steel structures.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, plan and profile, one line schematics.
• Complies with all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year education or experience in utility line or substation work or equivalent experience
• Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain.
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug test.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check when applicable per customer contract requirement.
