Job summary

WSP USA seeks an Intermediate Substation Structural Engineer to join the Power Delivery Substation Civil/Structural Group in New York, NY. You will support planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural solutions for electrical substations across public and private sectors.

Responsibilities include data collection, modeling, reporting, and coordinating with engineers and managers. Travel to sites may be required as projects demand; solid writing and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles and design/build processes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural engineering solutions for electrical substation projects.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation with sketches, calculations, and 2D/3D illustrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project managers across multiple projects.
• Help ensure safety, quality, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Support site data collection, surveys, and GIS data for project development and construction.
• Participate in risk assessment and verification of site conditions and loads.
