Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for a Substation Structural Designer to join our fast-paced and dynamic EPC Solutions organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure high-quality product.
• Manage project timelines, coordinate with engineering manager, and allocate resources for direct reports.
• Interact with clients to review and resolve technical project related issues without supervision.
• Ensure electrical asset mounting coordination and provide engineering design details for new and existing substations.
• Perform QA/QC on steel, foundation plans, sections, details, and BOMs prepared by direct reports.
• Identify and resolve design interferences and potential design issues.
• Provide additional support to site-civil and physical design groups as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• AA/2-year degree in Engineering Technology, CAD, or related scientific/technical discipline; experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 0–4 years of relevant experience in steel design; additional direct relevant technical experience may substitute for education.
• Demonstrated understanding of design concepts associated with high voltage electrical substations.
• Proficient in Substation Power Delivery Software: Autodesk AutoCAD and Bentley MicroStation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3D modeling experience using Autodesk Inventor.

Pay Range

$35,100.00 - $63,450.00
