Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a detail-oriented BIM Intern to support our Substation - Renewables team in Minnesota. You will help develop and maintain 3D models for utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects, gain hands-on experience with Revit, and contribute to digital delivery workflows.

This internship offers mentorship from experienced engineers, exposure to substation design processes, and the chance to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in engineering-related field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, BIM/CAD).
• Familiarity with Revit or similar 3D modeling software is a strong plus.
• Interest in civil, structural, or electrical design principles as they apply to infrastructure projects.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for high-voltage substations supporting renewables projects.
• Create and standardize BIM templates, libraries, and substation documentation.
• Configure digital delivery workflows for power infrastructure.
• Participate in model coordination, clash detection, data validation, and QA.
