Job summary

A consulting firm in electrical engineering is seeking a qualified candidate with strong expertise in electrical substations and a solid understanding of utility grid operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software is required. This role may involve travel and remote work.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of National Electric Safety Code and OSHA practices.
• Ability to create electrical Substation Physical drawings.
• Experience using 3D modeling software.
• AutoCAD training or experience required.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products.

Job description

Required Experience

• Strong understanding of electrical substation equipment is preferred.
• Experience in Transmission and /or Distribution Substation Operations for an electricpower utility company is preferred.
• Good understanding of utility electric grid operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic electrical power system theory is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the National Electric Safety Code, National Electric Code, andOSHA safe operating practices is preferred.
• Ability to create electrical Substation Physical drawings from a single line or three linediagram is preferred.
• Ability to create/manipulate 2D drawings and 3D models for electrical Substations.
• Experience using 3D modeling software (SDS Inventor, Autodesk Inventor or Autodesk3D (P4A) is preferred.
• AutoCAD training or experience is preferred.
• Experience working with document management & estimating systems preferred.
• Experience using Primavera (P6), progress reporting software preferred.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products is required.
