Avangrid in Mechanicville, NY is seeking a Supervisor-Substation Operations to lead Substation Operations, plan workforce, and manage safety and reliability initiatives. The role covers construction, maintenance, and protection of substations, with coordination across departments and contractors.

Responsibilities include directing projects, ensuring regulatory and internal standards, and maintaining equipment and training programs while supporting customer satisfaction and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years relevant experience preferred
• Associates degree with 7+ years relevant experience or high school with progression program and 10+ years relevant experience
• Knowledge of electrical/substation tech, control devices, and power systems
• Strong supervisory, project management and computer skills (WMS, CMS, OMS, SAP, MS Word/Excel)
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities; customer-focused

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, assign, and direct Substation Operations work and manage budgets
• Coordinate substation construction, maintenance, and projects including capital and automation
• Oversee transmission and bulk power delivery systems and reliability programs
• Ensure training and safety practices, incident investigations, and documentation
• Provide technical support across departments and coordinate outages and emergencies
• Act as switching coordinator and supervise contract personnel
