Job summary

ResponsAble Safety Staffing is recruiting experienced Substation Journeyman Electricians for permanent roles with our utility client. This full‑time position features long days (10–12 hours), a 10-on/4-off schedule, and per diem for lodging and meals.

Candidates should have 3–4+ years of substation experience and OSHA 10/30 certification. Compensation ranges from $30.00 to $35.25 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 required.
• 3 to 4+ years of relevant electrical/substation experience.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and substation maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• CDL Class A or B preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair substation components (transformers, breakers, disconnects, bus work, relays).
• Test, troubleshoot, and commission substation equipment.
• Read wiring diagrams and blueprints accurately.
• Operate utility tools and equipment safely.
• Support emergency response or storm restoration work when needed.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.

ResponsAble Safety Staffing is recruiting experienced Substation Journeyman Electricians for direct-hire positions with our customer supporting utility substation projects.

This is a long-term, permanent opportunity for electricians with hands-on substation experience.

Pay: $30.00 to $35.25 per hour, based on experience

Employment: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Hours: 10-12 a day -10 days on 4 days off

Per diem: $ 125 a day lodging and $60 a day food

Experience: 3 to 4+ years of relevant experience

Required: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair substation components, including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnects, bus work, and protective relays
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of substation equipment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Operate utility-related tools and equipment as required
• Work safely around high-voltage electrical systems
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on substation equipment
• Participate in safety meetings, briefings, and required training
• Follow OSHA, NEC, NESC, and company safety requirements
• Support emergency response or storm restoration work when required

Qualifications:

• 3 to 4+ years of relevant electrical/substation experience
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 required
• Previous substation construction and maintenance experience
• Experience working with high-voltage electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• CDL Class A or B preferred, but not required
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work at heights, in confined spaces, open trenches, and from aerial equipment
