PacifiCorp is seeking a Substation Foreman in the Salt Lake City area to lead installation, testing and maintenance of substation equipment. The role emphasizes safe work practices and hands-on operations in a demanding power-delivery environment.

Responsibilities include switching, grounding, and performing specialized tests; applicants must hold a Class A CDL and a Substation Journeyman card, and pass required certification tests. Excellent benefits accompany this Union/non-Union opportunity.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A CDL with no restrictions.
• Must possess a Substation Journeyman card.
• Must pass the local 57 Substation Journeyman test prior to hiring and the hands-on test six months after hire.

Responsabilités

• Install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair substation equipment (transformers, regulators, control gear, breakers, bus work, wiring, battery banks and chargers).
• Operate substation equipment, including switching and grounding.
• Perform testing on substation apparatus (power factor, turns ratio, megger, battery testing, oil sampling).
• Maintain a safe working environment by following safety rules and promoting safe work behaviors.
• Work may involve confined spaces and working at heights; may require long hours during emergencies.
• Handle tools, test equipment, and vehicles responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Install,maintain,test,adjust,troubleshoot and repair substation equipment which includes,but is not limited to transformers,regulators,load tap changers,circuit breakers,circuit switchers,motor-operated and manual switches,bus work,wiring,battery banks and chargers,and substation structures.
• Operate substation equipment,including switching and grounding.
• Perform testing on substation apparatus such as power factor,transformer turns ratio,megger,ductor,battery load testing,oil sampling,and other analytical tests as assigned.
• Consistently maintains and provides a safe working environment,following safety rules and practices,encouraging safe work behaviors,actively maintaining and accident-free work place.
• Physical requirements may include working in confined spaces and in elevated work areas such as heights from ladders,structures,scaffolds,buckets and boom trucks.
• May work independently or with others,occasionally work long hours during emergency conditions,and be responsible for tools,test equipment,and vehicles.
