Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Designer to support engineers and technicians by providing drafting and design support for infrastructure projects with limited supervision.

You will design and develop plans by drawing accurate 3D models and applying knowledge of design and 3D modeling to guide other technicians.

The role requires a two-year technical degree and 7+ years of infrastructure experience, plus proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, Bentley, SolidWorks, Revit, SketchUp, and Photoshop.

Job description

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Designer opening. The Designer supports an assigned group of engineers and technicians by providing technical drafting and design support for infrastructure related designs with limited supervision.

What You’ll Do

Successful candidates will design and develop plans for infrastructure projects by drawing accurate 3D models on a given software platform. Utilize knowledge of design and 3D modeling to provide technical guidance to other technicians.

What We Expect From You

• Two year technical degree in Technical Drafting or equivalent
• 7 or more years of infrastructure related experience required
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with 3D software programs such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Bentley, Solidworks, Revit, and Sketch up as well as graphic design programs such as Adobe Photoshop.
• Ability to learn and successfully apply company, client and projects standards and procedures
• Ability to successfully collaborate and communicate with individuals in a team environment
• Detailed drafting experience with substation electrical equipment layout, conduit design, grounding design, lighting design, lightning protection design, protection one-line diagrams, schematics and interconnection wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.
• Thorough understanding of site layout logistics as it can relate to substation equipment layout for efficient drafting and ease of construction
• Knowledge of MicroStation is a plus
• Proven experience in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
• Good organization and communication skills to assure projects are completed on schedule
• Must be able to work independently
• Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
• Must have permanent authorization to work in the US

Additional Opportunity Details

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $43.80hr - $54.00hr

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days and will continue to be posted for an average of 60 days until a qualified applicant is selected or the position has been cancelled.
