Job summary

HDR is actively seeking a Substation Coordinator to support electrical design analyses and cost estimates for power projects in Washington. You will perform routine engineering tasks under supervision and contribute to small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM and other CAD tools, and a strong desire to grow toward professional registration within HDR's employee‑owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • EIT license preferred; without it, will be called Substation Coordinator and must obtain EIT for progression.
  • Internship experience beneficial.
  • Strong CAD skills with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.
  • Desire for growth and registration; active participation in employee‑owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or recommendations, and assist in cost estimates and specifications.
  • Perform routine electrical engineering assignments with guidance from Project Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Work on projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
  • Assist on small projects or with senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers and Technicians as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Substation Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
  • Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • EIT license preferred. Candidates who don't have EIT license will be called a Substation Coordinator and expected to obtain EIT for career progression.
  • Previous internship experience beneficial
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
