Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join the BV Construction group. The role is on-site, focusing on commissioning transmission substation equipment in alignment with project contracts and technical specifications.

Qualifications

• NICET or NETA certification preferred.
• 2+ years of startup experience preferred.
• Protection system design, settings/configurations, installation, testing and commissioning.
• NERC CIP ESP/Security Zone commissioning experience preferred.
• Adheres to safety and quality standards on all tasks.
• Pre-employment checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a detailed commissioning schedule.
• Plan and coordinate commissioning activities and milestones.
• Operate as an independent commissioning resource.
• Execute commissioning with compliance to specifications and contracts.
• Perform system walk-downs to verify completion status and outstanding items.
• Demonstrate knowledge in protection systems and CIP requirements.
