Job summary

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation seeks skilled Substance Use Disorder Counselors to provide clinically aligned care with the treatment team. You will coordinate care and support students and interns to develop clinical competency and ethical practice.

The role progresses to Counselor 2 with a manageable caseload and opportunities for supervision, CEUs, tuition benefits, and DEI initiatives in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Substance Use Disorder Counselor 1 requirements include a bachelor’s degree and a certificate in addiction counseling or equivalent.
• Active SUD license in state of work (MN: LADC).
• Strong technology skills to document in an EHR and manage communications.
• CPR certification from ARC or AHA, obtained or within 30 days.
• Pass background check as required by state/licensing.

Responsibilities

• As a SUD Counselor 1, provide services per standards of care and coordinate with treatment team.
• Represent Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation to diverse audiences about services.
• Share patient information with internal/external resources per policy and CFRs.
