Job summary

BayMark Health Services is seeking a Compassionate Full-Time Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor in Kentucky to support patients in MAT for opioid use disorder. The role applies evidence-based and trauma-informed practices to help patients build coping skills and improve quality of life.

You will collaborate with doctors, nurses, and a multidisciplinary team to evaluate progress and develop individualized care plans, complete assessments, and guide discharge and aftercare planning.

Qualifications

• Must hold at least one addiction licensure in Kentucky (LCADC, CADC, LCSW/CSW, LMFT/LMFTA, or LPCC/LPCA).
• Prior experience with individuals affected by chemical dependency.
• Positive, non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward patients.
• Successful drug screening and criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling; schedule sessions based on patient need and state regulations.
• Conduct initial assessment to determine eligibility for services.
• Complete Bio-psychosocial assessment and establish an individualized treatment plan.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans; respond to patient grievances.
• Coordinate services with multidisciplinary team and supervise other duties as needed.

Position Overview

The licensed counselor will be responsible for offering support and assistance to patients enrolled in Medication Assisted Treatment for opioid use disorder. Utilizing evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach, the counselor will help patients develop individualized coping techniques and symptom management skills that enable them to experience improved quality of life. Through collaboration with doctors, nurses and a multidisciplinary team, the counselor will play a vital role in evaluating patient progress and developing an individualized plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service at regularly scheduled intervals based on patient need, best practices, and state regulations; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Conducts initial assessment and evaluation to determine eligibility for services.
• Complete Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Establish individualized treatment plan with each patient and review as clinically indicated.
• Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must hold at least one of the following in the state of Kentucky:
  • Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Clinical Social Worker (CSW)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA)
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA)
• Prior experience working with individuals affected by chemical dependency
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward the patient population.
• Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check is required
