Job summary

Liberty Resources seeks a full-time Substance Use Counselor for the Maxwell House Chemical Dependency Residence in Oneida, NY. The role supports adults with chemical dependency, delivering evaluation, counseling, and service planning under supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, related experience or higher credentials (CASAC variants, or 350-hour OASAS program) and a NYS driver's license. Pay range is $22.11–$24.03 per hour. Liberty Resources is an equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Provides chemical dependency evaluation, service planning and counseling per supervisor and client needs.
• Provides coverage of Maxwell House Residence as per staffing plan, including overnights.
• Monitors client interactions and behaviors; serves as a program role model.
• Writes nightly summary log and reports to Program Supervisor.
• Contributes to upkeep and cleanliness of the residence.
• Completes all required documentation within timelines.

Substance Use Counselor Position Summary:

The Substance Use Counselor provides coverage of Maxwell House Chemical Dependency Residence.

Substance Use Counselor Job Responsibilities:

• Provides chemical dependency evaluation, service planning and counseling and evaluation as directed by program supervisor, and in accordance with individual client needs.
• Provides coverage of Maxwell House Chemical Dependency Residence as reflected in the staffing plan, including overnights as required.
• Monitors client interaction and behaviors. Provides a role model for the program participants.
• Writes nightly summary log and appropriately reports to Program Supervisor.
• Responsible for contributing to the upkeep and cleanliness of the residence.
• Completes all required documentation, in timelines in accordance with program standards.

Substance Use Counselor Qualifications:

HS Diploma required. Bachelors or Associates and/or related experience preferred. CASAC-Provisional, CASAC-T, or higher credential, or successful completion of a 350-hour OASAS-approved education and training program required. Must possess a valid New York State driver's license.

Pay Rate: $22.11-$24.03 per hour
