Alpharus Health is a national nonprofit behavioral health provider recruiting a Substance Use Counselor for the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. The role focuses on assessments, individual and group counseling, documentation, and care coordination within a correctional setting.

Salary ranges from $18 to $24 per hour, with annual merit reviews. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and MAADC certification within 30 days; willingness to obtain Missouri DOC clearance is

• Ability to obtain Missouri Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) within 30 days of employment.
• Must obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develops individualized treatment plan.
• Provides individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups.
• Documents treatment and discharge plans, and clients' progress and responses to treatment; maintains related records and charts.
• Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring.

Location: Chillicothe Correctional Center 3151 Litton Road Chillicothe, MO 64601
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, normal business hours

Substance Use Counselors are responsible for:

• Completes comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develops individualized treatment plan.
• Provides individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups.
• Documents treatment and discharge plans, and clients' progress and responses to treatment; and maintains related records and charts.
• Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to obtian Certification as a Missouri Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) is required, and Gateway will help you obtain that within the 1st 30 days of employment. Gateway provides trainings and clinical supervison!
• Must be able to obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data
• Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy
• Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises

Compensation (based on experience and credentials):

• Non-Credentialed range begins at $18 per hour - $24 per hour.
• Alpharus Health conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
