Job summary

Simmons University in Boston is seeking a Subject Matter Specialist (Adjunct Faculty) for nursing to provide targeted tutoring and remediation for students in nursing coursework. You will help learners master core concepts, apply evidence-based clinical judgment, and prepare for NCLEX success.

Required BSN; MSN preferred for graduate-level work; active MA RN license; APRN license as applicable; at least 2 years of clinical nursing experience.

Qualifications

  • BSN required.
  • MSN to work with graduate-level post-licensure students.
  • Active MA RN license.
  • APRN license, as applicable.
  • Strong academic background in nursing.
  • At least 2 years of recent nursing clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and small-group tutoring to support student learning and academic success.
  • Support students in developing and demonstrating required competencies.
  • Reinforce core concepts and promote evidence-driven decision-making across the curriculum.
  • Facilitate review of NCLEX-style questions to strengthen clinical judgment and test-taking skills.
  • Collaborate with faculty and Academic Coaches to coordinate student support and promote academic progress.
  • Monitor student progress and identify opportunities for timely academic support.
  • Maintain accurate tutoring records in accordance with program expectations.
  • Participate in student success initiatives that support retention, progression, and academic achievement.
