Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking a skilled subcontract specialist to develop and manage agreements for materials, equipment, and services. You will prepare bid packages, evaluate proposals, and negotiate terms to secure favorable awards.

You will coordinate changes to subcontracts and collaborate with contracts administration to shape procurement policy. The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 6+ years (or equivalent with Masters/PhD), and experience in procurement and supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience required; or Master's with 4+ years; or PhD with 1+ year.
• Experience in subcontract management, procurement, and bid processes.
• Ability to write and negotiate contract terms and awards.

The Role

Develops subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services. Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts. Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts. Participates with contracts administration and purchasing to develop subcontract policies and procedures.
