Job summary

Responsibilities include assisting in new and existing substations, following safety protocols, and performing tasks such as demolition, site prep, trenching, and cable labeling. Per diem is provided when applicable.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Substation Technician maintains and preforms repairs, modifications, replacements and installation of a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment systems while adhering to EEI’s Safety First Culture. This role supports the construction of new Substations as well as modifications, and upgrades of existing Substations for Electrical Utility Companies. Per diem is provided when applicable.

Qualifications

Read and understand system maps to become knowledgeable in general electric distribution system layout, system substation capacities and load areas, substation circuit feeds, and general system sectionalizing. Assist with installing transformer and transformer banks, bus structures and switchgear, lines (underground/overhead), ground grid, control buildings, and other related substation material tasks. Able to operate forklifts and maintain a valid forklift certification. Will work with man baskets, skid steers, shovels, compactors, back hoes and other industry equipment. Frequently work around energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care. Understands and complies with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.Other duties as assigned by Management.
