St. Coletta of Wisconsin invites applications for a Substitute Driver in the Jefferson, WI area. The role involves transporting individuals served, ensuring seatbelts are used, and securing wheelchairs during trips, with a commitment to safety and reliable documentation of trips.

Qualified applicants are 18 or older with a valid license and a clean driving record; prior driving experience is preferred. Training will be completed within 60 days of hire as part of our program.

Qualifications

• Professional driving experience preferred, 18 years of age or older.
• A valid state-issued driver’s license with a driving record that meets our requirements.
• A desire to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and other challenges in their personal growth.
• Successfully complete all required training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives vehicle from homes of persons served or central loading area to destination, according to assigned schedule.
• Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Ensures that all passengers make use of their seatbelts and assures the safety of individuals being transported.
• Safely operates cellular phone to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
• Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers.
• Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Participates in organizational or departmental committees and meetings, as appropriate.
• Adheres to all St. Coletta organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
