Job summary

• Perform basic maintenance such as changing light bulbs and moving furniture.
• Set up and take down event equipment and spaces.
• Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces.

The Austin Public School District is seeking to hire Substitute Custodians to be available on call, as needed throughout the school year

APS isa world-class public school system located in Austin, MN. We employ over 800 full- and part-time employees and serve over 5000 students from diverse backgrounds.

This is on call position, as needed in the absence of the staff. Applications will be accepted throughout the year, and assignment lengths will vary. Candidates for the on-call substitutelist will be selected for interview according to the need throughout the school year. Candidate selected must successfully complete a pre-employment physical and be eligible for employment in an educational institution.

Position Detail:

Responsible for performing routine custodial activities and routine grounds work such as:

• Cleaning the inside of classrooms, sweeping, vacuuming & mopping floors, washing desks and counters and washing white & black boards.
• Cleaning, vacuuming, mopping and sanitizing restrooms, kitchen, offices, gymnasium, etc. Strip & wax floors.
• Emptying garbage cans throughout building.
• Performing general maintenance such as: changing light bulbs, moving furniture, shoveling snow, etc.
• Event set-up and take down.
• Washing windows, walls, lockers, etc.

Candidate selected must successfully complete a pre-employment physical and be eligible for employment in an educational institution.

Salary: $16.50 per hour
