Stump Grinding & Stump Removal Specialist

About Valley Tree Care

Valley Tree Care is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Stump Grinding & Stump Removal Specialist to join our growing team. This position is responsible for operating stump grinders and related equipment to safely and efficiently remove tree stumps and surface roots from residential and commercial properties throughout the Phoenix metro area.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, providing excellent customer service, and taking pride in leaving job sites clean and professional.

About the role

Compensation : $22-$26/Based on experience

Key Responsibilities :

• Remove tree stumps, surface roots, and related debris.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of stump grinders, trailers, trucks, and equipment.
• Identify underground hazards such as irrigation lines, utilities, landscape lighting, and drainage systems before beginning work.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding work scope and site conditions.
• Assist with tree removal, cleanup, and other field operations when needed.
• Accurately document completed work and report equipment issues promptly.

Qualifications :

• Previous experience operating stump grinders, skid steers, excavators, or similar equipment preferred.
• Experience in the tree care, landscaping, excavation, or construction industries is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate trucks and trailers.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Ability to identify potential job site hazards and work safely around utilities and irrigation systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
