Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 5–11 months teaching assistant experience or combination of education/experience.
• Two years of college study, an associate degree, or demonstrated ability in reading, writing and mathematics.
• Willingness to attend safety, diversity, harassment and emergency code workshops; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in an alternative learning or study hall environment before, during and after school.
• Proctors assessments, assists students with assignments, and helps students operate computer/media equipment.
• Motivates and encourages students to complete assigned school work.
• Establishes an open door policy and maintains positive connections with students.
• Maintains attendance, behavior, and progress records; coordinates with staff for student support.
• Performs secretarial duties as requested and supports office staff as needed.
