Job summary

Labcorp is a global leader in laboratory services, seeking a Study Director/Principal Investigator for nonclinical toxicology studies. You will be the single point of control for safety assessments and the main client contact, ensuring compliance with GLPs and sponsor requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in toxicology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology with 3+ years of research experience.
  • PhD preferred in toxicology, regenerative biology, genetics, virology, or immunology.
  • Experience as Study Director or PI is a plus.
  • Experience at CRO and in pharmaceutical non-clinical drug development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Study Director, Principal Investigator, or Contributing Scientist for nonclinical toxicology studies.
  • Represent the single point of control for safety assessment studies.
  • Oversee technical conduct, interpretation, analysis, documentation, reporting, and archival per policies.
  • Be the main client contact and advisor for ongoing studies.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a Study Director, Principal Investigator, or Contributing Scientist for nonclinical toxicology studies, as described in the GLPs.
  • Represents the single point of control for safety assessment studies and being legally responsible for the study.
  • Learns overall responsibility for the technical conduct of a study as well as for the interpretation, analysis, documentation, reporting of results, and archival in compliance with appropriate policies, SOPs, GLPs, Home Office License requirements (if applicable), and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Is the main client contact and advisor for ongoing studies and must develop a full understanding of the Sponsor’s requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in toxicology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology with 3 or more years of scientific research experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in toxicology, regenerative biology, genetics, virology, or immunology.
  • 1 or more years of experience as a Study Director or Principal Investigator.
Additional Job Standards:
  • Experience at Contract Research Organization.
  • Experience in directly overseeing or acting as a team member in pharmaceutical non‑clinical drug development.
  • Strong client relationship building and management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to help foster a high professional standard and encourage good staff relationships.
  • Ability to understand financial status of ongoing studies.
