About The Role

Direct and participate in the planning, organization, conduct, and interpretation of animal research according to regulations, protocols, standards and guidelines (e.g., USDA, FDA, GLP, GCP). Be responsible for monitoring studies and providing updates to Sponsors and management. Ensure that employees perform studies according to protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

What Youll Do

• Serve as Study Director (SD) and participate in research projects including protocol development, preparation and administration of test article, collection and processing of samples or tissues from animals, reporting, and related activities.
• Plan outlines of research procedures, write protocols and reports, review study schedules, and communicate with clients regarding updates, amendments, deviations, and results. Provide timely updates to the supervisor on any study issues.
• Ensure personnel allocated to research activities have a clear understanding of the protocol and are properly trained; monitor the study to ensure activities follow the schedule and data are recorded appropriately.
• Utilize information sources (internet, archives, government agencies, etc.) to collect, record, and analyze information useful for research projects.
• Prepare study reports, communicate with Sponsors, and contribute to publications in scientific journals, regulatory submissions, or further research activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

What Youll Need To Succeed

• Ph.D. or M.S. in biology, toxicology, or related life sciences fields
• A B.S./B.A. in a relevant field (e.g., Animal Science, Biology) with at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent education/experience combination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
