Job summary

The Studio Technician at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) supports Globe Collection and Press operations, providing printmaking and design expertise for students, visiting artists, and external projects. Qualifications

  • Associates degree in printmaking, graphic design or related field.
  • Five years of experience in letterpress, screen printing, graphic design or studio management.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Globe Manager to identify improvements and advance Globe’s capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot digital and analog applications of client projects.
  • Lead Globe interns’ schedules, training, and engagement with the collection.
  • Design and execute ongoing projects including MICA’s Voter Access Initiative.
  • Select materials from the collection for visiting artists and exhibitions.
  • Develop content for Globe’s website and social media accounts.
  • Manage Globe’s online retail website: recording inventory, orders, listings, and inquiries.
  • Oversee studio operations at 1515 and the MICA warehouse for safety and organization.
