Job summary

KSTP-TV, part of Hubbard Broadcasting, Minneapolis–Saint Paul, seeks a studio production technician to run cameras, lighting and audio for in-studio and remote newscasts.

You will direct automated newscasts, mix audio, maintain lighting, and support live broadcasts while coordinating with directors and talent. This role requires flexibility with early mornings, evenings, weekends and steady teamwork.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of broadcast production equipment and language.
• Experience in television control rooms, audio rooms, studios, and productions preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Must follow directions and stay calm during changes.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs and move quickly.
• English communication skills both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Operate handheld television camera in studio and live remote productions.
• Program and operate robotic cameras and Smart Shell.
• Manage audio levels and cues in the studio during shows.
• Maintain lighting across studios and perform basic repairs.
• Direct automated newscasts using Overdrive and support live productions.
• Assist with training and collaborate with news and other departments.
• Report equipment issues to maintenance and coordinate with team.
